Best Things to Do Near New York City

New York City is one of the most well-known cities in the United States. Tourists from across the world come there to be part of the Big Apple. We made a list of our favorite places to visit in this city down below. Each of these attractions are only about an hour drive from Harbor Rose.

Bryant Park

  • Cost: Free
  • Walk around Bryant Park to look at gorgeous architecture, ride a merry go round, attend a free music concert, try food from various vendors and more! The park is beautiful and clean, allowing you and your friends to take a break from the busyness of New York City.

Central Park

  • Hours: 6 a.m. to 1 a.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Central Park is fun to enjoy during any time of the year. Rent a bike, ride a horse, take pictures of the stunning scenery, play catch on the lawn and read about historical figures on their statue's plaques. The large park is open to the public and is taken care of by Central Park Conservancy.

Empire State Building

  • Feel the wind whip around your head at the top of the Empire State Building. The views from this 102-story building are phenomenal, especially at night. Fort Totten Park

  • Right by Little Neck Bay, Fort Totten Park gives you wonderful views of the water, particularly during sunrise or sunset. The park is quiet and peaceful, so bring a loved one to enjoy the serenity of the area. There's also a military base nearby.

New York Aquarium

  • Some of the best exhibits to see during your visit to the New York Aquarium include "Spineless," "Sea Cliffs" and "Ocean Wonders: Sharks!" Each of the tanks are creative and filled with marvelous animals. You can also book a wild encounter to get up close to your favorite animals. 

Prospect Park Zoo

  • If you love animals, then you need to visit the Prospect Park Zoo. You'll be able to see dwarf mongooses, dingoes, Shetland sheep, baboons, California sea lions and fly river turtles. 

The Channel Gardens
