What’s Unique about the Victorian Room at The Harbor Rose Bed and Breakfast? Our only room with a King size bed with a fireplace, and yes, it works! Fire logs are available for $15 each. It has a balcony overlooking the harbor just outside the guestroom. The Victorian Room is on the warmer side (by a few degrees) in the winter and the summer, even with the central air conditioning. So, if you prefer open windows and ocean breezes when the outdoor temperatures are in the high 70’s and low 80’s rather than air conditioning, the Victorian Room is a good choice. The room features flat screen cable TV, radio alarm /sound machine and a sitting area.
The Sights and Sounds: If you have the windows open, you will hear some distant street traffic noise in the evening. We pretend it is ocean waves and a science lesson in the Doppler Effect! You may also enjoy the sounds of nature — crickets in the summer and songbirds, geese, and swans taking flight from the water are quite a sight and sound. Yes, every hour on the hour you will hear the song bells from St Johns Church. If the windows are closed, the room is silent. The Victorian Room features spectacular winter water views, and through the foliage, water views in spring, summer, and fall, luxury Sealy mattress, cotton linens, and pillows. The water views are most enjoyable during the evening sunsets. A rare treat to have sunset views over the water on the east coast of the USA! As the sun sets, the harbor becomes golden, shimmering like diamonds across the surface of the harbor. At night across the harbor, you will see the twinkling lights on a miniature cityscape tucked into the hills.
The Victorian room located on the second floor has a private bathroom is in the hall outside the guestroom.
Breakfast is included in the room rate for those who reserve directly with us at TheHarborRose.com
