About the Harbor Rose Bed and Breakfast Innkeeper
Deirdre, the Next Phase
I began my professional real estate career in 1981 and specialized exclusively in lodging property brokerage. My outstanding closing record elevated me from sales executive to principal of the firm. Over the years, I earned countless awards, contributed to the industry in many ways, served on boards, educated others, and completed hundreds of hotel sales. I have sold and financed many franchised and independent properties for banks, government agencies, hotel companies, REIT's, and private individuals.
Yes, I was on a treadmill, traveling 180 days a year, sailing 120 days a year (racing for fun), and I was almost never home. I loved it--the fast pace, the adrenalin, the relationships and community, the trenches and creativity of transactions, problem solving and the stress. But then came the time for the next phase.
In 2007, my daughter arrived at the same time the financial markets collapsed. There were no lenders in the market, and as a result, transactions came to a halt.
For me, it was time to slow down and enjoy life with my daughter, a new income stream that allowed me to be home, and The Harbor Rose Bed and Breakfast was born!
Now our guests benefit from our warm, inviting, peaceful, and loving home, where a child’s laughter and smile warms many hearts on a daily basis. As we evolve, so does The Harbor Rose Bed and Breakfast.
The Harbor Rose B & B served as a rectory until 1939 and still serves as a sacred space for all those who enter. Our goal is for all those that arrive to feel a little bit better when they depart.
You will find nourishment of all kinds here, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. The longer you stay, the better you feel, and that’s why our guests come back again and again.
Now I service my real estate clients and my guests from my home, and life is a lot slower and more mindful. I have also authored a book on healthy eating, Upgrade Your Life One Bite At A Time, available for purchase on Amazon.com and HealthyLivingWithDeirdre.com.
As a veteran in the field of Health and Wellness, a mother, a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners, I focused my childhood on wellness which led my interest in, and later, the study of, Chinese & Homeopathic Medicine. Through my ongoing study and practice, I have developed an understand of the deep connection between internal and external environments, and more specifically, the connection between foods and wellness.
The Harbor Rose provides guests with an eco-friendly, organic, nontoxic experience and the opportunity to the taste of my cuisines, featuring unique herbs and spices harvested from The Harbor Rose gardens.
I am truly grateful to be of service to my clients and guests in every way possible!
